Upgrade to Office 2003 Ptofessional Posted: 12 Sep 2005 06:30 PM PDT Follow the links to the Microsoft Knowledge Base Articles and read them. I would also recommend that you read the migration issues document (XP-03Delta.doc) which I have also provided a link to. As far as uninstalling or keeping Microsoft Office XP Professional with Microsoft FrontPage, this is up to you. You should keep in mind that some things, such as the Office Shortcut Bar is NOT included in Microsoft Office 2003 Editions. With this in mind, there is an alternative way to achieve something very similar in Microsoft Windows. See the following links below. What?? Q & A http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=450 I would recommend that you keep your Microsoft Office XP Professional with Microsoft FrontPage CD (or CDs). You never know if they might be needed in the future. This would also include any component or program that is not included in Microsoft Office 2003 Editions, such as the Office Shortcut Bar. And you are purchasing the FULL version of Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003? Anyway... MS Office doesn't work after changing hard disc. Why? Posted: 11 Sep 2005 11:10 AM PDT Office does not like to be copied from one hard drive to another, because that is one method a software pirate might use in order to bypass the Office activation process. If you have your Office CD and the 25-digit product key, then: 1. Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290301 and install it. 2. Use the utility to delete the Windows Installer registry entry for Office. 3. Reboot. 4. Uninstall Office by clicking on Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs | Microsoft Office | Remove. 5. Reinstall Office from the original CD. TChurch wrote: |

Office XP cannot carry out junk mail rules occasionally Posted: 05 Sep 2005 08:28 AM PDT Nothing in particular: It conflicts with two obvious junk mail parameters. Firstly it uses the work MEDICATION in its subject matter and secondly it comes from an obviously made-up name (no one in the real world has names like Thaddeus Peck or Rubble M Smout: Thankfully the spammers are running out of real-sounding names to use). I should add that Outlook DOES delete it from my inbox and puts it into my deleted items folder! It does seem as if the spammer has found some way around an obvious email rule but as it is deleting the message, I am not sure what the error message is trying to tell me? (I stopped telling outlook to 'permanently delete messages' years ago when I disovered that this part of a rule I might create doesn't work) |

Yes, you removed Office XP Office is not on the disk labeld XP professional. From this message, I can only guess that you need to buy and install Office 2003. I was not aware of any variety of Office that has a free trial period, but, if so, you really blew it by not paying for a permanent version. The full blown version of Office which contains powerpoint, etc., is not inexpensive. The student versions of the Office products are much less expensive, and you may qualify. Jim |
