Print problem Microsoft Works

Hi Kevin,

I tried a number of things, for one installing the file mentioned in
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=314517 but I only was able to print her
Calendar once I had changed her rights to administrator again, as mentioned
in one of the documents I also found in the Knowledge base.

So I guess I have no choice!

One things that irritates me about MS Word is trying to figure out what someone else has done.

 

I have a client that has provided me with document format specs (a PDF, not a Word Template) in which the lvl 1 Header looks like this:

 

 

 

                                    CHAPTER 1.0
                                 INTRODUCTION

 

 

And the TOC appears this way:

 

1.0     INTRODUCTION

 

Try as I might, I am unable to keep "CHAPTER" from showing up in the TOC while keeping it in the lvl 1 Header.   I can manually remove the "CHAPTER" from the TOC, but that only lasts until the TOC is updated, then it is back.  I need a better solution.  Any suggestions?

Help! Just installed an Epsom SX235W and my word has now stopped working

Excel and Powerpoint is fine but word comes up with the following:

 

"Microsoft word has stopped working - a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".

 

Read somewhere that if my printer uses Abbyy Finereader then this can cause the issue?  But if I uninstall this will my printer still work ok?

 

Sorry bit of a technophobe (and dumb).

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

Autocorrect and Word 2010

My PC has been rebuilt but I have lost my Autocorrect in Word 2010.  I have a backup of the PC prior to rebuild.  How can I restore my old autocorrect?  Surely there must be a simple way to do this?

recent files do not display when hover on start menu icon for word 2010. tried to resolve through MS Community but unable to find automatic destinations file. perhaps that's the problem. already reset default settings and did a number of restarts as well. anyone have any ideas? btw it worked at one time.

I am new to office 2010 and have a problem with downloading attachments that are from my AOL mail account. 

Every time I download a pdf attachment it transfers to a picture download and I am not able to read the attachment in that form.

How do I fix this problem?

Two numbering schemes and an automatic table of contents

I am currently working with a 250 page document with 74 sections. I have already inserted a continous page-numbering scheme and an automatic table of contents at the beginning of my document. I am also trying to insert a section page-numbering scheme that won't interfere with my other numbering scheme or my table of contents. I've tried both SEQ and PAGEREF solutions that I've seen on the Microsoft community, but I seem to get nothing but syntax errors and don't know why. I'm not terribly familiar with field codes and how they work, but have been trying them out on a sample document with no success.

 

Please help!

office 2007 keep configering becouse of early installation of office 2010

Before i had installed office 2010 latter on installed office 2007.

After sometime i deleted manually some files related to office 2010 and from then the programm become unresponsive. I could not uninstall neither reinstall/repair. I deleted the file from add/remove programs this made matter more critical.  So when i open word 2007 it keeps on reconfiguring.

1. Help on how to uninstall office 2010 from such stituation or alternatively how to make word 2007 default.

Kevin,
Just a precautionary note to what Mark said. Paste Links do work but
they are fragile. That is, if not handled carefully, they can easily get
corrupted. Also, Paste Links do not generally follow a file if its
location is moved (e.g. the Project or Excel file is put in a different
directory).

I'm with Mike on this and I belive my answers have been definitive. Please
don't cross post the Project news groups - this is common netiquette - like
not using ALL CAPS in a post or covering your mouth when you sneeze.

If you've got a developer problem, post the question in the developer news
group. Many that help in the "Project" group do not do development - why
waste their time?

If you've got a tool function or general question, post in that group...

If is MS Project programming problems/questions then "Developer" is your
group - (the VBA group is slowly phasing out of use)

The add_in group does not get much traffic...and I'm not sure but I don't
belive there are any "Add-in MVPs" - you'll probably get better help from
VB.general or Delphi

ok. So I will have all the projects out on PWA like I have now for
people to work on and thne I will have a master project which
encompases all other projects which will be available just for the
leveler for when he needs to do leveling. and this project will
constantly show all changes made to the other projects... is that
correct ? or do I just need to be showing that one master project and
just give people access to the subprojects ?

Thanks for the clarification. Change the file extension to a zip = *.odt
to *.zip. Now if I can get it to change, so far stuffit has not recognized
the extension change. I have tried a known good file and experencing the same
issues, maybe I am doing something incorrect. Will keep working at it. Did
not know I could extract the *.odt file by changing it to a zip extension.

more interesting is the question what you mean with "not so god .doc
compatibility". Did you mean real conversion errors, missing data, bad
formats or missing VBA features. For the latter one VBA i would say that
we will never reach a really good compatibility.
We are no simple clone althoug it looks so. We provide a good platform
independent office suite with an open standardized document format that
becomes adopted by more and more goverments and public offices all over
the world.

If especially companies are willing to pay a lot of money for licences
and will stay with an closed format or a "pseudo" open format it is hard
to argue against that or to convince them. I think the migration to ODF
is possible if really wanted and already demonstrated.

Don't be frustrated! There is often a lot of politics involved behind
the scenes ;-)

But the good thing is that we always work on better compatibility.

Each upgrade provides new fonts. They are usually put in a disabled folder.
You can add those back.

Office 2008 uses a different method for fonts and many fonts are new
versions. Office 2008 will install fonts to the /Library/Fonts/Microsoft
folder. By being at the root, then all users on the machine have access to
them and you don't get Office 2008 putting multiple copies on the machine
for each user.

The installer will scour /Library/Fonts/ and ~/Library/Fonts/ for fonts with
the same name and move them to /Library/Disabled Fonts/ or
~/Library/Disabled Fonts/ depending on where they were found.

Whatever it is or whatever we call it, I find it far more intuitive and easy
to manage than I do spotlight. It allows me to set search terms easily and
doesn¹t immediate try to execute while I¹m still typing them.

Let me please believe I¹m getting something I actually want for the money I
shelled out on this silly new edition. I refuse to say upgrade.

I finally installed the version I received, because I didn't receive any
news from my last email to the Belgian Microsoft Client Support. And my
best bet is that I could wait for it for a long time.

Anyway, although I can easily live with everything in French, there is
one thing that really annoys me. At work, I'm using Excel every day, in
fact for everything I do (two software I use, Excel and Access), in a
Windows 2007 version in English.

I've seen that all formulas in the 2008 French version do use the French
names instead of the English ones, and this is were I'm having a real
user experience issue that is more than just aesthetic.

I suppose there will be no way of having these in English instead ?
Except that is hoping for either a miracle, or going into the grey area
;-)

You should be able to update the BusinessUnitBase table and set the IsDisable
column back to 0. No guarantees, but your other alternative right now is to
reinstall.

Yes. From the web client,, go into the Business Unit setting and open the
detail form for the user. Then, from the actions menu, select Change Business
Unit".

Ed,

Provided you are careful, you won't lose any data. The biggest issue is the one
you just hit. The DMF uses integer fields for the promary keys, but CRM uses
GUID's. You will need to map these values in order to migrate the data.

The only other thing is to make sure you populate all the tables in the DMF
(like ActiviyParties). This is the one that causes the most trouble with
loading data into CRM.

If you aren't comfortable doing this on your own, you may need to bring in
someone with stronger SQL skills to assist you.

Try browsing to that URL directly from a browser on the CRM Server. Do you get
a response? You may have to use the ICrmEmailDispathSDL.srf file instead. You
should get an XML SOAP response when you browse to one of these files. In my
experience, I've always had to use the SDL, but others have gotten the response
from the main file itself.

This should give you some more information about the problem.

If you are using SSL on you server, you will need to disable the need for
encryption on the MSCRMConnector virtual directory.

I am planning to do a similar thing on my server, I already have installed
CRM and SQL and everything is running fine. I now want to go ahead and
install Sharepoint. Was there anything specific you had to configure in
order to run Sharepoint with IIS? Because I was wondering the same thing how
will they run since CRM is using the default web site.
