CRM appointments not appearing in Outlook calendar

Yes

I entered an appointment in Webclient. Then went to CRM folder in Outlook,
then clicked sysnchronise.

No error messages, but no items sysnchronised.

Multiple sessions with the same login id

MSCRM is licensed on a named-user basis. This means that anyone who users the
app should have a license. Unfortunately, hey do not offer a read-only license.

Technically, an app that uses SDK calls to retrieve data and display it should
also require a license. There is some gray in this though. If you are
concerned about the retrievals, then you can always try to access the tales
directly via SQL. This is allowed, but not supported.

As fro the EULA text, it is on the installation CD and most likely is copied to
the server as well.

Matt,
Thanks a lot for pointing this out. I am a bit scared now. We use an admin
account to render data in some of the custom pages (this data could not be
retrieved if the current user credential is used). Is this also a violation
of the EULA?

This might seem to be a stupid question. But what exactly does the EULA say
about this issue? Is there a place where I can find the EULA text?

Thanks a lot

Incomming e-mails appear duplicated

Posted: 10 May 2005 03:18 PM PDT

Hi Oscar~

Rob is correct that the incoming e-mail is being processed by more than one
of the CRM Exchange Connectors. To get around this please follow Rob's
suggestion or consider placing a front-end Exchange server that will
process all incoming e-mail. Then the CRM Exchange Connector will only need
to be placed on this server.

In regards to your second question, what you are experiencing when sending
e-mail out of CRM with duplicate activites being created is by design for
CRM. A separate e-mail activity is created for each recipient.

Can't access CRM

Posted: 10 May 2005 02:01 PM PDT

Thank you - I wasn't aware of this update.
I have now applied a host header to the website I originally created for CRM
and given an alias name for DNS.

However I still have the same problem. When I set the crmweb with the same
IP as the network card internal address the default website stops working and
when I type http://servername/crmweb I getpage not found.

Are there changes I need to make to the CRM installation to reflect the host
header? Or should I uninstall and reinstall CRM?

Also did you have a comment on my question re the CRM exchange connector?

Thanks.

The All Leads view is not All Leads.

Posted: 10 May 2005 12:58 PM PDT

Larry,
There is a way around this...
1) In the IE client, go to Home | Settings | Business Unit Settings |
Teams
2) Click New Team, give the Team a name, such as "Admins", and Save the
Team.
3) Click on the Members team, the Add Members button, and add your
System Admin to this team.
4) Go to Home | Settings | System Customization | Leads | All Leads
5) Select Actions | Sharing on the All Leads view customization screen.
6) Click on the Add Team button, click Go, double-click on the Team
Name you created. Click OK.

You have now "shared" the All Leads view with only those people in that
group. "Sharing", in a uniquely Microsoft definition of the word, in
this case means to restrict access to everybody, except those with whom
you share the view. Which means in this case that your regular users
can no longer see this view!

Now, create a new View, name it whatever you like, Filter however you
like, and voila, problem solved... HTH,

Dave

Question about Activity assignation to Case

Posted: 10 May 2005 09:34 AM PDT

Not to mention that all activities accepted have to be manually deleted from
in progress when the case has been solved...
Is there a workaround for that?

Thanks
Eric

Custom view will not run

Posted: 10 May 2005 09:04 AM PDT

Ron,

Do you know if the full-text search indexing is running correctly on the SQL
Server? I believe searching in the memo fields is done through the full-text
search engine of SQL Server. Therefor it should be running and also indexing.

Question about security setting

Posted: 10 May 2005 02:33 AM PDT

Thanks for reply Dan.

Two users are in the same BU.
Actually, I created a new BU called "Local Sales", with parent BU set to
"Adventure Work Cycle", and there's no child BU under "Local Sales".

For the "Local Sales" BU, only 2 users belong to it, cs and cs_manager, and
they both grant to role called cs_user.
One of the owner of the Accounts that cs_manager should not be seen is
"Administrator", and he is under "Adventure Work Cycle" BU. Actually,
cs_manager able to view all acounts that created by different BU, that's why
it's so rare....and cs with the exact same setting but only able to view
"Local Sales" owner's accounts.
I also checked that there are no sharing among those Accounts, and there's
no team setup for two users.
One thing that maybe an issue is that cs_manager is the Manager of cs, will
that be an issue? But I can't remove that Manager relationship once I
assigned.

Please help, thanks.

Ken
