Help! Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 setup error

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=928218 "How to uninstall the 2007
Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the 'Add or Remove
Programs' feature".

Office 2007 Home and 2000 Access at once?

Ok, that clarifies it:

uninstall 2000 (backing up settings files first, I assume)
custom reinstall 2000 in a folder named '\02K' (that name only?)
install 2007 and say yes to Upgrade

I suppose in between the last two steps I should get all the updates
from MS for 2000, or will updating 2007 after the install take care of
that too?

Thanks.

MSWORKS Missing from Office 2003 Re-Install

If the 'New Office Doent' and 'Open Office Doent' shortcuts are not
shown in your start menu see here
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA010591561033.aspx

In this case doent means any office file, eg Word, Excel, Publisher etc
By default office doents (files) are saved in the My Doents folder,
when you save an office file you can give it a descriptive name and if
neccessary create a new folder in My Doents to store it eg you are
dealing with the 'widget company' therefore create a folder named 'Widget'
and store it there - subfolders can be created (the save process opens a
window to My Doents in which you name the file & choose where to store
it, or create new folders - place your mouse pointer over the various icons
for an explanation)

Finally, & importantly remember to backup your data!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are a number of free or not expensive backup applications

Always amazes me that some people expect an office suite which retails for
hundreds of pounds to be supplied free of charge!

Did you buy your PC new or second hand? If it was a previously owned/used
PC then anything could have been installed on it by the previous owner.

Ive never seen a new PC preinstalled with the full Office Suite (apart from
the
trial versions). Certainly some HP PC's come with MS Word and the Works
suite but
not the full Office.

Maybe you are confusing the Works Suite with the Office Suite?

2007 and 2003

Yes, simply uninstall Office 2003 from the Add/Remove Programs list. You
may need to perform an in-place reinstall of Office 2007 but it should not
be affected.

How do I run "Missing DATA1.MSI" when installing Office 2007?

Posted: 10 Oct 2007 09:46 AM PDT

Please download the windows installer cleanup utility from here..

http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

Install it.
After the install, Run the program.

Choose Office 2000 on the list of installed programs, and click remove.

That will effectively remove Office 2000.

Sorry, I should have known about the Citrix/TS thing, but my crystal
ball is in the shop today. For accuracy sake, the Office 2007 user name
is stored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common \UserInfo.
