Form Fillable PDF in Ondrive, Word PDF does n ot work Posted: 14 Sep 2014 03:03 PM PDT I am having problems with PDF's opening in Word. I was trying to post a PDF file that is form fillable to my onedrive folder and create a link to it so I can share it and accumulate the corrections or completed forms input by others. When Word opens the file there are no fields to input information in. It's completely unfeasible to have the parties I want to share with to download it update it and upload it again. I'm new to Skydrive-Onedrive and was rally looking forward to the possibilities. This is a huge setback. Does anybody know of a cloud system that will provide a functioning PDF viewer or is Microsoft going to correct this issue. |
Question about editing (select, delete text) in 2007 Posted: 14 Sep 2014 02:58 PM PDT I just switched from 2003 to 2007 and have a question which I'm sure is very simple but I can't figure it out. Let's say I have 2 paragraphs, and I want to delete the end of the top paragraph and the beginning of the 2nd paragraph. i.e. (para 1): One day I went to school. (para 2): I woke up early. Now, say I want to get rid of the end of paragraph 1 and the beginning of paragraph 2 so that my final result will read: "One day I woke up early." So when I select the text I want to delete (went to school. I) and hit delete, it ends up looking like this: One day I woke up early. My question is, how can I get "woke up early" to be up there next to "One day I"???? TIA |
Can't save documents on windows 2013 Posted: 14 Sep 2014 02:23 PM PDT Whenever I try to save a document on MS Office 2013, it simply doesn't respond. I press save in the file menu, and it goes to the save menu. However, when I try to select the file to save the document in, it simply doesn't respond. The computer runs fine, it doesn't freeze or anything when I try to save, it simply continues to function as though i never attempted to save the file at all. |
In Word hyperlinks, # becomes %20-%20 in IE11 and " \l " in the field code. Posted: 14 Sep 2014 01:54 PM PDT In hyperlinks of the form URL#comment-number, # becomes %20-%20 in IE11 and the field code is " \l ". The webpage sends an error like Page not found or Internal Server Error. Correcting the link in the browser corrects operation. Wood 2007 H&S is recently installed in a new, cleanly installed Windows 7 + SP1. Word has 36 updates including SP3 and W7 has 163 updates. Office diagnostics find no errors. This error did not occur with the same Office 2007 H&S in an earlier W7+SP1 installation on the same PC. This fault occurs with Excel but the links are transmitted correctly from an htm file. |
Printing issues with Office 2010 Posted: 14 Sep 2014 01:54 PM PDT Hi, I recently installed Office 2010 onto my computer, its a Hp running windows 8. Whenever I write a word document and try to print it, the printer recognizes the document and goes through the process of running the page through, with the printing spool moving, but the page comes out blank. The printer is a HP Deskjet D1600 series. The reason I think this is an Office 2010 issue is that whenever I print anything else outside of Office there are no issues and the printer works fine. I have tried changing the font on the documents but still the same. Can anybody help? Thanks. |
IE copy image / Paste in word does not work Posted: 14 Sep 2014 10:32 AM PDT Just so you'd know. Copying an image from IE 11 by searching with BING and selecting "Copy image" does not paste in Word. Word hangs for about 90 sec and than displays and empty box. Maybe the Office or IE developers could come up with a solution. |
Post Office Bar code with Word 2013 Posted: 14 Sep 2014 09:16 AM PDT I address a number of envelopes on my mailing list with Word 2013. I remember on previous editions of Microsoft Word I could put the bar code on my envelopes. How do I do this on Word 2013? Please advise. |
Posted: 14 Sep 2014 08:33 AM PDT Hi, I've had office 2013 installed on my laptop for a while but hardly use it. I came to use it the other day and got the error: We're sorry, but Word has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. This happens as soon as I open word or excel. I attempt to run the repair but this also fails before it even starts! -I tried running in safe mode to disable add ins but same issue. Is anybody able to offer any advice on other things to try? Posted: 14 Sep 2014 08:27 AM PDT I have had the Office 2013 for over a year and lately the Word program has "not responding". I go to open a document and the little mouse twirls and twirls and there is a "not responding" notice at the top. I have to reboot my computer and try again. This is happening a lot. I don't have the subscription Office, but the stand alone single copy. Are there updates? Or should I re-install the program? It doesn't happen to the other programs, only Word. (Is there a fix -- I went to all the suggested MS sites and they're no help) |

Word 2010, Unwanted Blank Page Posted: 14 Sep 2014 07:50 AM PDT Office Home and Student Word 2010, Windows 7 32 Bit. I am creating a document with only a picture on each page. I have mirror margins with a wider gutter. There is 1 section break between the front cover and the front matter. These images are the only thing on each page, and are laid out behind the text region. Suddenly at pages 9, 10 and 11, I now find that an empty page (page 10) is being added in between 2 pictures (pages 9 and 11). I can backspace to make the picture fill that blank page, but the next picture I insert has a new blank page inserted before it and so on and so on. The picture width and height is completely within the page margins. I have checked and rechecked all the options. In Show all Formatting Marks, there is no break of any sort assigned at that location, no text, hidden or otherwise, only carriage returns indicated by the paragraph symbol. Show Picture Placeholders is unchecked. Restarting Word and re-booting the computer has no effect. To get around this annoyance, so that I can complete this project, I have added several blank pages to the end of this document. It seems to be working, in that there are no unwanted blank pages between the images. But when I delete those blank pages at the end of the document, I am right back in the same boat, a blank page between the last and the 2nd to last image. The blank page issue is going to be a "tearing my hair out" issue when I begin page numbering in the footer. I would be very grateful for any solutions to this "phantom page" issue. Thanks! Sharon |
How to remove personal details from Comments made on Word Posted: 14 Sep 2014 07:11 AM PDT When I am reviewing a document and making comments, my information shows up next to the comment. This includes my name, picture, and email (when I click on my name for more information). I figured out how to remove my account picture from Comments. I just want to remove the email (it is listed as my IM contact address). The name next to my comment is okay to display. I want to be able to control the information others can see after I email them my reviewed document. |

Can't print Word and Excel files from HP printer Posted: 13 Sep 2014 05:05 PM PDT Split from this thread. I have a new Acer laptop running the latest version of Windows (biggest piece of garbage Microsoft ever put out). I had to install Microsoft Word 2013, again a piece of trash, and now cannot print word documents, blank piece of paper comes out of printer. Tried to print Excel Document and only a couple of words came out. I have a new HP Photosmart 7520 printer. I can print from the internet but not from Microsoft. What is wrong? |
