Didn't work :(

Can I manually remove Access?

Is there a way to preserve my customisation? Most stuff is saved in
Normal.DOT, but I think that toolbar options etc are stored elsewhere.

Off2K3 full install thinks it's an upgrade??!!??

Hi Mike,

You may want to use the MS Installer cleanup utility then
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us?FR=1
restart and build the \MSOCache (LIS) folder from scratch, but don't lose the list of files in that article. They may come in
handy.

Thanks for the reply Bob. Actually this is Mike (Sandra's my wife and
I'm using her laptop to post this)

The link you give might have helped back at the beginning, but it's a
whole new problem now. There is nothing installed but the install CD
thinks there is and wants to do an uograde until it finds the files
aren't there then fails.

Any ideas?>>

How do i install office 2000 without the codes?

If you have your old PC, you can use Belarc Advisor (www.belarc.com) to
report what the Product Key is.

I am activating Office 2007 & am getting the error product activa.

I've been trying as well and have (very) limited functionality. Can't figure
out an alternative way...I wish someone (from MS) would just let us know what
is going on...

Office Activation, other Posts Gone !!??

I guess I did. My wife and kids were about to kill me to get out of this
office as I searched all day long for a solution. I went through every new
product and just kept hitting activate and finally the message change over
and still timed out, but at least it was a truthful message for once; that
their servers were down and to try back in a few minutes. just kept trying
right after that it activated and I'm liking the office now,,now!!!b/c I was
starting to HATE it...Good Luck.

If that doesn't find it, somewhere in the documents and CD's that came
with your Compaq you should find the key. If that doesn't work, you
have to either call Compaq or buy a new copy.

You should have purchased, retail, the Office & Student licensed version
which allows for installation on 3 Pcs, and is sold at a considerable
'discount' price for educational users.
I suggest you go & purchase this edition, amazon.com is as good as anywhere,
before you make another costly error.

I've also heard that you'll be unable to upgrade to Office 2007. You'll have
to buy the full version. That's why you only paid $140.

Anyone else care to comment

cannot activate 2007 office beta

I decided to go to the Office site (3pm EST) and the Office Beta 2 site is
still up and offerint the B2TR for download. The page also still indicates:

Expiration Date
All 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 software has an expiration date of
February 1, 2007. After expiration, 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 will
continue to work in a reduced functionality mode that limits your options and
operations.

There is no good reason for the activation server to still be down. Let's
hope it gets fixed soon.

Try using Windows Uninstall Cleanup Utility and see if it references
anything dealing with Office 2000.
