forwarding email through exchange Posted: 16 Jan 2006 03:12 PM PST Lanwench [MVP - Exchange] wrote: Thank you for the reply. The reason I am stuck with this hostong company for now is that I use Lotus DOmino through them and it is tied to the email. I am trying to move to SharePoint and I will, at that point, let Exchange handle the whole email thing. I checked the SBS login script and the only thing in there is: \\SERVER2K3SBS\Clients\Setup\setup.exe /s SERVER2K3SBS Is the setup.exe the culprit? |
5.5 uninstall after 2k3 migration Posted: 16 Jan 2006 01:23 PM PST Hi, This is the way to remove the 5.5 server: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=284148 Leif "Derek" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |
'Access Denied' error during storage group restore on Exchange 2000 server Posted: 15 Jan 2006 06:52 AM PST Thanks for your comments guys. Yes, the Veritas account has ample rights (enterprise administrator). Incidentally, I forgot to mention that I have enabled writing on the storage group databases, in case someone asks. Excuse my ignorance of Power Controls, I have not actually used it yet. However, regarding "re-direct the restore to another server in your production forest since you are using Power Controls", can the restore be redirected to a non Exchange server? We do not have a spare Exchange box, and in any case I have been told to do this in a lab using servers that are simulating their counterparts on the 'real' domain. What about my question regarding the disasterrecovery switch? Is it the case, that the DR server needs to exactly duplicate the drive sizes, drive letters/names and partitions? Thanks KC BTW we do not backup system state on the Exchange server. |

I don't remember offhand why it was necessary in the first place.... Sorry to hear that...just simplify your rules. Personally, I think I have perhaps three rules I use ...I don't tend to need a lot. |
Sync a Palm Treo with a shared calendar Posted: 13 Jan 2006 01:22 PM PST In news:com, msenior <microsoft.com> typed: Not using ActiveSync, if that's what you're using....if you use something like Chapura PocketMirror Pro to sync your data to your handheld, I believe it can do this. Issue with Blackberry after mailbox is moved to Exchange 2003 serv Posted: 13 Jan 2006 08:07 AM PST Known issue with certain versions of crackberry. Do a full resync on the Blackberry server. "Greg" <com> wrote in message news:com... |
Strange problem with Inbound Mail Posted: 13 Jan 2006 08:04 AM PST In news:com, Perry <microsoft.com> typed: From the Internet? Does the banner supply the correct server name? I'm not sure what kind of "filters" you're talking about.... To the old or new server? That's fine. Also shouldn't be a big deal. I'm curious as to your firewall config - what kind of firewall / router are you using? Also, if you don't mind, please post your real internet domain name.... |
Connecting two sites on SBS Exchange 2003 Posted: 13 Jan 2006 07:04 AM PST Hi Mark You used to be able to link Exchange (5.5) servers so that multiple office locations all looked like they were internal - ie all appeared in one global address list, no matter what location they were in and this global address list syncronised over all the exchange servers. So if you added a new user/mailbox at one location, it was distributed to all locations. Can you now not do this with exchange 2003 Thanks Mark "Mark Arnold [MVP]" <org> wrote in message news:com... |
Strange Behavior on receiving replies Posted: 12 Jan 2006 03:22 PM PST In news:com, Mike <microsoft.com> typed: I haven't -but he should've looked in his sync issues folder first to see what was being reported. Regardless, glad it's resolved. |
exchange 2000 size limit not working Posted: 12 Jan 2006 11:36 AM PST As Mark alludes to, bloat for MAPI to MIME is roughly 30%, that's one thing to check. Message size limits can be set in 4 places; global settings, the smtp connector, the smtp virtual server, and the mailbox. Where exactly did you change the limit? Even when you change the limit, mailbox imfor mation is cached for 2 hours by default. How long did you wait? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327378/en-us "Mark Arnold [MVP]" <org> wrote in message news:com... |
What are the steps to create a shared mailbox? Posted: 12 Jan 2006 07:40 AM PST Hi Jonathan, Thanks--I appreciate it and will give that a shot! Alan |
Sending an appointment to EVERY mailbox Posted: 12 Jan 2006 12:40 AM PST Pantera, the way that Mark is telling you is the correct way, however what he overlooked is that while you are in the appoint and before you send it, you should just simply on the Actions menu and uncheck the option for Request Response (please note that this option will only be active if you have Invitees). What that will do is instruct Outlook/Exchange to place the appointment in the user's calendar whether or not they read/accept the appointment. It has worked for me when I have to take the network offline for whatever reasons. Hope that helps. Pantera wrote: |
Deleting Inbox email using Outlook Web Access (Macintosh) Posted: 11 Jan 2006 04:57 PM PST Mark, We downloaded and installed IE. Same situation as Safari. No support under Explorer...next steps? Thanks. LC "Mark Arnold [MVP]" wrote: |
Share contacts and calendar without Exchange Posted: 11 Jan 2006 03:55 PM PST True, but for this particular situation a Hosted Exchange Server isn't a viable solution. Thank you anyway. |
Posted: 11 Jan 2006 02:34 PM PST I assume the Linux box is not Authenticating to the Exchange 2003 Server so you will have to insure that its able to relay off the Exchange 2003 Server. In Exchange System Manager go to your SMTP Virtual Server. Go to the Properties and Access Tab and click on the Relay button. Add the Linux server IP Address to the list. Restart your SMTP VS and you should be set. -- John Oliver, Jr MCSE, MCT, CCNA Exchange MVP 2006 Microsoft Certified Partner "CJ" <net> wrote in message news:43c58803$0$9653$illicom.net... |

Not really that big a deal. You arne't supposed to be running these often, and the uninitiated should not be running them at all. |
