Posted: 06 Jun 2005 10:00 AM PDT There's probably some big SBS wizard for it, but run ADU&C (start | run | dsa.msc and then right click on an OU, say new | contact and follow the steps. Ensure you enter the external smtp address when prompted and say yes (tickbox) to create an Exchange alias (that's key) |

No "Exchange Tasks" on Domain Controllers Posted: 06 Jun 2005 05:55 AM PDT Hi Customer, Thanks for posting here! Thanks Mark much for GREAT INFO! I agree with Mark that if you would like to see Exchange Tasks or create mail-enabled user in Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) snap-in of Domain Controller, you need to install Exchange System Management Tools. More info here: XADM: Exchange Tasks and Tabs Missing from Active Directory http://support.microsoft.com/?id=322836 To install Exchange System Management Tools only, insert the Exchange Server 2003 CD-ROM, click "Exchange Deployment Tools", and then click "Install Exchange System Management Tools Only" in the "Welcome to the Exchange Server Deployment Tools" dialog box. Hope this helps. If there is anything unclear, feel free to let me know. Thanks! Posted: 06 Jun 2005 03:40 AM PDT Basically the system is a 2 node cluster running on HP Proliant servers connected to an HP shared storage box. HP called it a cluster in a box. We are migrating the stores to a 'real' SAN. Nothing is logged with regard to the store move, the only related info in the event log is 2 entries for MMC hanging. ------------------- Hanging application mmc.exe, version 5.2.3790.1830, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000. ------------------- Fault bucket 183421130. ------------------- Thanks Richard "Mark Arnold [MVP]" <org> wrote in message news:com... |

Posted: 03 Jun 2005 09:12 AM PDT I do have a anti-spam software installed. (MailFrontier). I have added the domain to the allow list. The interestig thing is that some emails come through sometimes, when they don't come through, there is no errors in either end. Any other suggestions? "Ben Hoffman" wrote: |
Down SBS 2000 server -- Exchange errors Posted: 03 Jun 2005 07:39 AM PDT US is 800-936-4900. Elsewhere check support.microsoft.com for the number. Unfortunately you need to have your credit card handy, but it's worth it when you consider how long you may be wrestling with this otherwise. "Susan" <nospam.com> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... |
Posted: 03 Jun 2005 12:37 AM PDT In news:com, Chris Hagon <microsoft.com> typed: By default, you aren't an open relay if you're using E2000/2003 and haven't explicitly allowed it. Note that authenticated relay is allowed by default - and I suggest you disable it unless you a) have a real need for it and b) have a very very good password policy in place. Not necessarily Probably - You can't *stop* someone from spoofing, unfortunately. But see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823866 and http://www.windowsitpro.com/Articles/Print.cfm?ArticleID=40756 Also might want to look at www.vamsoft.com - ORF can be a very nice addition to your environment. I've been using it for years. |
3 months of Free/Busy published when meeting added by BlackBerry Posted: 02 Jun 2005 02:13 PM PDT Thanks for the reply. We have that Registry entry in place with 35 months. OWA does use it because I can see the 35 months after OWA adds a meeting. However, it appears that BlackBerry does NOT use it because I still see only 3 months of Free/Busy when a BB is the most recent system to add a meeting. I realize BlackBerry is a CDO application, but apparently there is another path through the Free/Busy update process. "Brad Collier" wrote: |

Posted: 01 Jun 2005 01:17 PM PDT The thing is that our current setting in Eudora is to NOT leave the messages on the server so there is nothing left on the server to access. We could start now leaving the messages on the server but that wouldn't help with everything downloaded so far and the address book. "Paul Ford" <edgeitltd.co.uk> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... |

IMC message store in Exchange 5.5 Posted: 31 May 2005 04:18 PM PDT Ok, so if that's not a good source of archive material for incoming and outgoing email to the domain - where is then? And is there any way of decoding anything but the most basic info from these files anyway. The sources and destinations and basic content is there but it seems strange that it's not possible to decode any attachments which are encoded in them. If not, what is the point of having them? -- Bob Stewart IT Systems Manager Blackadders Dundee Scotland "Mark Arnold [MVP]" wrote: |

Posted: 31 May 2005 11:44 AM PDT hi Jason, Try right-clicking on your domain in ADU&C, and selecting Find. In the Find window, click the Exchange tab, and select "Show only Exchange recipients" and "Users with Exchange mailbox". Leave everything else unchecked. Click "Find Now" That should bring up a list of all users that are mail enabled. Select that list (after confirming the list contains what you want), right click and select "Exchange Tasks". Follow the wizard to remove the Exchange attributes. (Note that I didn't look into your original message, this is simply how I would remove Exchange Attributes from multiple mail enabled users) David. Internal and External domain name behind firewall Posted: 31 May 2005 11:39 AM PDT "jason.sigurdur" <org> wrote in message news:%phx.gbl... You just want the External one. It is directly related to the E-Mail address construction. The "mail domain" shown in the "official" Email Addresses of the users is what you want. For example if: your internal Domain is "domain.loc" your Public external Domain is "domain.com" The recipient Policy therefore, uses "@domain.com" Pointless to worry about. Nothing reasonable you can do about it anyway. Your internal IP# addresses are *meaningless* to anyone on the outside,...we are pretty much *all* using the same set of RFC Private address ranges, there is no "big secret" about them and they are not compatible nor routable on the Internet and they cannot be used as "destinations" from the outside. So it is pointless to worry about your mail server's IP# showing in the mail headers. People get way too paranoid about things that don't even matter,... and then do all kinds of headstands and cartwheels to deal with them,...when it is just a lot of wasted energy and labor over something that means nothing. -- Phillip Windell [MCP, MVP, CCNA] www.wandtv.com |
Only Administrator can access OWA Posted: 31 May 2005 06:25 AM PDT I am having the same exact issue at a client. The client is running SBS 2003, only the admin account can login to OWA, all other accounts can not login at all and they are all enabled for OWA use. I have even tried making a copy of the admin account for testing purposes with no luck. Please help! Anyone :) "mahmad" wrote: |
