Posted: 10 Jun 2004 01:33 PM PDT This tool is what you need. The CRM Redeployment tools. These tools can definately take a crm system from one active directory to another. In fact Microsoft have told me that they could package up my entire CRM system using this tool then bring it into their test domain if i needed advanced troubleshooting. Microsoft also told me that it is VERY important to follow all the guidelines in the tool and do not try to take shortcuts here is the link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=bfced393-61db-49af-9a50-4a90b311fa7d&DisplayLang=en#filelist "Sylvain Bélanger" <ca> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... is Migration doing key if Windows need ? |
Posted: 10 Jun 2004 01:22 PM PDT Simple tip read the implementation guide and follow what it says. If this is your first install you may want to set up a test domain using virtualpc and do a test install on that setup before deploying on your production servers. Posted: 10 Jun 2004 07:51 AM PDT Teams cannot own records. Only users can own records. In the application you can look at the owner field, it will always be a user name. Records can be shared with teams. Hope that helps. "Koen" <com> wrote in message news:<40c8759d$0$8393$skynet.be>... |

Posted: 10 Jun 2004 04:22 AM PDT Microsoft actually recommends that the first go offline is performed on your office network as that is the one that takes the longest. However of course you can do this over VPN but keep in mind that the sync could take at least an hour maybe two. minimum dsl connection would have to be at least 512k however these days anything over 1mb is good. There is no whitepaper discussing this as it involves so many factors such as network speed, crm server speed, client computer speed etc. "Marlen" <com> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... take |
Posted: 10 Jun 2004 03:34 AM PDT Pete, There are built-in scripts in the app that rely on some of the fields. It sounds like you removed the quantity field from the form, which is needed by one of these scripts. Matt Parks ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- On Thu, 10 Jun 2004 03:34:05 -0700, "Pete at CRMbase dot co dot uk" <microsoft.com> wrote: I'm having a couple of problems with the export and import of a customisation. I've added some custom fields and removed other fields from the forms. The customisation on my system works but I get an error on the product form which when displayed says quantitydecimal undefined. The fields is displaying and working so I'm not sure if this is a serious error or not. The second problem is that when I import the configuration to another CRM server the customisation forms lose all the display of fields, tabs and sections - although they are present and can be double clicked to show their properties. Anyone seen this before ? |
Unable to do duplicate checking on accounts and contacts in M CRM1 Posted: 09 Jun 2004 02:56 PM PDT If you need duplicate checking during data migration, use Scribe Insight at www.scribsoft.com Peter "Talei" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... as I want. There is no duplicate checking. Is that part of the functionality of Microsoft CRM1.2 or am I missing something. Do I need to configure an option? Posted: 08 Jun 2004 10:57 PM PDT Neil, If you pull all the code from the MSDN article and perge it together into one module, and use the SQL scripts provided, it will work. It just takes some patience and time. I've asked my local MS to help, but they are just asking one-liner questions per day..... I could see this going on for a month before I get a working concept. So can I ask.....Please Would someone ZIP up a working solution as well as the SQL script to use against the meta base and email it to me or post it on this newgroup. That way I've eliminated all coding errors etc. I don't mind if the example, writes to the MSMQ/ File or even says 'Hello World' in the NT Event log, but I need to get started somewhere! The only SQL script I've seen to use against the meta base for example, referes to a column IsEnabled.....it seems in version 1.2 this column does not exist or has changed to IsEnable, yet my questions to the local MS office don't say 'Yes' or 'No'. These where the links I used. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnmbscrm/html/mbs_crmpostcallouts.asp http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnmbscrm1_2/html/mbs_crmcstmintpostcallouts1d21.asp Regards Neil co.za |
