Hi,

another thing worth trying: search for the file "MSCRM.PST" on the client
machine and delete it. This one is not always removed during uninstall.

The other caveat here is whether or not you are talking about the builtin
territory support or a cusom field you added to "flag" the territory. I'd be a
little careful about updating the built-in Sales Territory membership through
direct SQL. Anytme there is a GUID involved, I get a little hesitant.

Awesome!! That was it exactly!! If we entered a value of zero for the
estimated revenue it went thru fine. It also goes thru if we select "System
Calculated" instead of "User Defined" for the estimated revenue. Thanks a

Then sounds like they need to research how to define rules in MessageLabs. If
they can define a rule to allow emails from none recipients or maybe by looking
at the pattern in the CRM subject line, but the burden is on MessageLabs to
allow it through.

CRM Users can set their profile to route all inbound email into CRM. It will
then resolve based on their email address. However, this isn't typically
recommended since then all email (even personal) will end up in CRM. If they
are using the SFO client, they can promote individual emails to CRM.

You can't use the User Manager to add a license to a use that is already in CRM.
It is used to add users to the system only. To maintain a user that is already
in the system, you need to do it through the web interface.

The admin user needs to have alicense associated wtih it prior to using user
manager to add additional users. Also, depending on the nature of your AD
environment, not all users will apprear in the list due to properties that the
utility is looking for that aren't always there on accounts that have been
migrated from an older domain.

Bingo - Peter beat me by a few hours I guess. I have seen this many times
where the file can't write based on the permissions. And the errors that the
postcallout throw, if any, don't lead you in this direction.

Thanks for your reply. I am considering this option using hotmail or
something, but would really like to somehow do this in exchange. I think you
could set up a child domain or use some kind of strange delivery options, but
I'm not sure how this would work exactly. My director is not very hot on the
idea of routing out to hotmail and back. I have to agree with him, this is
probably not the cleanest way of doing this. This may work for a temporary
solution, but I would really like to do it in exchange.

The slugs will also work in the Subject line of a workflow email. So, you can
put !opportunity.name; in the subject and it will expand properly.

What is it doing exactly? is there any error?
You will ensure as Jakob said that the DNS and IIS are working correctly
although you will also need to make sure there is no pop-up blocker or script
blocking enabled on that computer you are attempting to access it from.
Also make sure the DNS suffix is configured correctly or the page cannot be
found error will come up.

THanks for replying. All CRM services and SQL services are running.
When I modify the web.config (as someone mentioned on here) I get the

All of the above are correct with a little bit more

1. Go to the deployment manager and add a new field make sur the type is
picklist.

2. publish the changes. Make sure you check the appropriate record type.

3. Stop and start the web service.

4. go back into CRM choose, home, then settings, then system
customization. Note you must have administrator privileges to do this.

5. Select the appropriate record type, click on the form customization.

6. Add the field to the form.

7. Click on the field, then choose properities. Go to the values tab. You
should be able to add your picklist values there.

8. After you are done. Publish your changes again and stop and start you
web service again.

I'm used to making forms using Adobe Acrobat, where if you give two form fields the same name, the information you enter into the first will autofill into the second (and any subsequest) fields of the same name. I'd like to duplicate this feature in the Word templates I'm creating, but I don't see an easy solution to accomplish it using content controls. Is there a feature I'm overlooking or a workaround that accomplishes the same thing?

Word 2013 Macro Not Work As Predicted

Sometimes I receive Word documents that have a layout other than the one I prefer. When such a document is open on my screen, I can put it into the format I prefer by clicking on the "One Page" button and then click on the "100%" button. When I record a macro following those same two steps, the result is not the same. The macro below causes the layout to go to a single page, but the Zoom is not 100%. What am I doing wrong? Is Word recording an incorrect command?

I have a big book. I want page numbers at the bottom of the page and "Chapter 1", "Chapter 2", etc. at the top. I have found this to be utterly impossible. I have been scouring the web for explanations and everything i have read does not work. Doing a Next Page Section Break screws up my page numbers, and even if it didn't do that, there are still problems with it. This seems like such a simple thing that should be able to be done almost automatically, why is it such a disaster?

   I've been fighting with MS word 2013 for a while, its losing files and won't let me save, without first asking with every doc. if I want to save even when I've not made any changes.  Lost a 10 page assignment,  I try try to recover and the file would not open it was a DSF file?  I called MS support and the tech said my doc. was gone and I needed to speak with a doc. recovery tech. I'm in summer classes and I DO not have time to leave this with the geek squad who didn't fix it the last time I had it in.

Today I'm trying to open a PDF in word 2013 so I can edit it and it opens under the picture format with an + for the curser, so now I can't edit it. 

What can I do to fix this program? I've repaired three times in the last 3 weeks.  I've check with the "fix it" took and I don't even think 'fix it" is for 2013. All I seen was 2010 and issue before then. 

I think this all started when I tried to share a video with a professor, so I've gotten it all messed up.  

I need a list to follow to try and get this program back to normal, at least until this class is over.

Have tried to removing and re installing office, tried to repair office but I still cannot get page numbering to function. I know I can use field codes, but that is not what I expect and is not the way Word should function, What is the fix, Microsoft, not the workaround. I have wasted hours on this feature since all my work requires page numbers. but not on all the pages (the cover, for one). Most of the time, I manually enter the page numbers. On 50+ pages documents, this is tedious. Need this fixed ASAP.

Hi,

When I paste the following number in an empty new word document, word freezes (reproduceable):

"16863484103375415255768374467839801554"

It seems the Word autocorrect functionality is causes this freeze. If you set "do not check spelling and grammar" as default, the problem does not occur. However, your gramar and spelling errors are not corrected.

Does anyone know a way to keep the Word grammar and spelling checker working and be able to use these large numbers in word document. By example by disabling certain autocorrection features?

No Office 365 Program opens any files

Hello everyone,

For a while now I've been having the a problem and it is really getting to my nerves now: whenever I try to open a file with my Office 365 University version, no matter if it is Excel, Word, etc., it will start launching the program, showing the small blue/green/etc sign in the middle of the screen reading "starting", the sign then goes away, reappears and goes to the standard program starting screen offering to launch recent documents and standard document (such as blank). Neither offline nor online repair helped fix it (and i tried both several times) and the only way around it that I found was to drag the file into my browser and after "downloading" it opening it through the browser's downloaded file tab. When trying to open files any other way it just reloads the program and goes back to the starting screen with recent and standard documents. Did anyone have this problem too and knows how can I solve it if the online and offline repair does not work?

Edit: Also when using the browse window when saving it restarts the program and thus discards any changes without saving. Even with the "ways to work around problems" it keeps on screwing up...

I am a teacher from a Hong Kong university. We are now preparing copyrighted teaching materials, and will distributed to primary schools in Hong Kongfor non commercial uses.

I have searched on the net. Can I simply used the clip art from Office, with "Used with permission from Microsoft" printed? (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/Permissions/default.aspx#ELC) Or, are there regulations or application procedures, specifically for university?

Microsoft Office 365 Applications Will Not Open

Hello everyone,

I have had this problem for over a month now, every time I click on an application from Office 365, which I downloaded about 11 months ago on to my DELL windows 8 laptop, the application doesn't start at all. I don't receive any messages of an error or anything, the app simply just doesn't open up. It's as if I never even clicked on it. it registers that I click on it, the hourglass icon pops up on the cursor, but a second later nothing happens.

I have tried the quick repair, and when I try the online repair tool it does its thing for about a minute, stops, then says there was an error.

I have no idea how to fix this, I think the package I bought came with two codes so I can reinstall the program again I think, but I don't know if that's a good idea. I don't want to pay another 80 dollars for an application that should be working smoothly only for it to do this again.

if anyone can solve this I would greatly appreciate it!!

Stop MS Office from Downloading Already Offline Files

I have 2 simple requests: Can somebody please show me how I can tell Office 2013 in a language it can understand this:

a) All my OneDrive documents are already available offline. Please read/open them from the filesystem; you don't have to download the document EVERY TIME! This makes me so very mad

b) I have OneDrive app to do the syncing. So, please cut it out with this Upload Center bull. Just save the documents to the file system (as we agreed) and let the sync engines do their work.

I feel bad that I will have to drop OneDrive/Office integration. It's not worth the pain. I'll just work with Dropbox and Copy.com for realtime syncs and use the OneDrive 1TB for storing movies :)

PS: I am running windows 8.1

Let me head over to the OneDrive page and look for the genius that thought that in this day and age, locking Windows 8.1 users to Microsoft accounts and OneDrive is a good idea.

Word 2013/O365 - Design Tab/Ribbon won't stop refreshing - link to video provided

Running Office 365 Pro Plus  (Word 2013)

Version 15.0.4631.1002

Simple example:

Open Word, new blank document

Type some text.  etc..

On the ribbon click on the "Design" tab.

Next to the Themes button on the far left side are little "boxes' that show a preview of what the theme looks like.  These little boxes won't stop refreshing.  I can't navigate any of the menus on this Ribbon section because the boxes wont stop refreshing.

Suddenly, when I try to use the Calendar Creator in Word 2010, I'm not able to create a calendar.  Everything is fine until I click "Finish".  I then get the message "This method or property is not available because no text is selected."  This occurs when I attempt to create one month calendars and when I try to make multi-month calendars.  How can this be fixed?

well, the assumption there is that the package exists as a .deb or .rpm
(the latter can be problematic because it was not "packaged" for ubuntu).
A lot of software exists which is not in the official repositories at all
or they are not updated often enough. For example, Firefox 2.* was
released few days ago and it exists in ubuntu 6.10 but a week ago, you
could not readily get a .deb. You had to install from the web site.

anyway, most well-created packages will come in a ".tar.gz" which is
compressed .tar file. "tar -zxvf filename" will extract the files for
you. The first thing to look for is "INSTALL" or "README" and you will
probably see instructions about "./configure", "make" , etc. Do these
without a "sudo" . Then if everything goes well do "sudo make install
....".Instead of the last one you can try using "checkinstall" (sudo apt-get
checkinstall) .See http://asic-linux.com.mx/~izto/checkinstall/ . This
latter allows a nice uninstall method and I beleive it will let you get
dependencies automatically too.

This is fairly generic but not always true. other programs will have
their own instructions.

No, I've clearly stated that the default driver did not include WPA
ability, that it should include it, and that if they are going to

If your grub loader is installed correctly, then it should display
something similar for you. Notice the bottom of the screenshot which
states:

"...Press Enter to boot the selected OS, 'e' to edit the commands before
booting, or 'c' for a command-line."

Pressing 'c' will give direct access to the grub shell and its pre-boot
environment. That may be what your original question was driving at.

Also, when the loader cannot find its menu (because it absent), the
default action is to go directly to the grub shell at boot:

which means it will drop the files "right here" (which gets messy). In
this latter case, make a directory (mkdir directory_name), and move the
tarball into that directory (mv tarball.tgz directory_name), and change
into that directory (cd directory_name).

Execute the command 'tar -zxf tarball.tgz' (making the obvious correction)
and then change to the directory where the "new" files are located. Run the
command 'ls' to see what you have, and then start reading - paying attention
to the files in all CAPITAL letters - like README.
 

Unfortunately, that depends entirely on the instructions that are found
in the tarball. Start with the README and see what it tells you to do.
Make sure this source is meant for your distribution and release. Pay
attention to the kernel version numbers (run 'uname -a' to see what you
have now). You will probably also need the development packages, including
the compiler and GNU 'make'. These are not installed by default, so you
may need to install them before going further.

You may find additional help in the Usenet newsgroup alt.os.linux.mandriva
but I'd suggest you post from your ISP's news server RATHER THAN GOOGLE

Good point. I was assuming that, in the setup stage, he was probably
operating as su. For a long time after I started learning Linux, I

I have been using OpenOffice on my Windows computer and OfficeSuite on my iPad since Microsoft Office was not available everywhere.  When Word for iPad came out, I purchased Office 365 and have it on my computer and iPad.  I am having trouble with my Word for iPad.  The app itself works fine, but I can't open my files on Onedrive (which is where I save my files so I can access them everywhere).  When I open Word for iPad and go to my OneDrive Documents, I get an error to check my internet connection (but only when I go to Documents, it works fine when I go to Music or Pictures or Recent Files), but I am connected.  Very annoying and I had to go back to OfficeSuite and will have to not renew my Office 365 if not fixed soon.  This has been a problem for months, and still not fixed.

Hej!

I have a problem with the automation of the headline.

In the header, I want the heading formatted with "heading 2". But, if there is no "heading 2" under "heading 1", there should be "heading 1" in the headline.

 

The following solutions with code fields are not working, I have already tried:
  • { STYLEREF "heading 2" } -->  I get the heading, e.g. 1.3, from the last chapter, when there is no subchapter in the following chapter (no subchapter 2.1).
  • IF { STYLEREF "heading 2"  \r \t } > { STYLEREF "heading 1" \r \t } "{ STYLEREF  "heading 2" }" "{ STYLEREF "heading 1" }" --> I get only "STYLEREF" in the header
  • IF { COMPARE { STYLEREF "heading 2" \r \t } > { STYLEREF "heading 1" \r \t} } = 1 "{ STYLEREF "heading 2" } " "{ STYLEREF "heading 1" }" --> I get "COMPARE" in the header

Something went Wrong Error // Tried Everything!

For some odd reason, I can't open any of my Microsoft products like Word, Note, Excel, and ect ect. I have tried the whole restarting my computer (about four times), doing the whole change and repair online junk, and I have even tried to uninstall it. Nothing works, and this is quite upsetting because I need these programs... :c

I start school soon, and like I said I need them... I don't know what else to do..

Select text in a single Word section VBA

Update Citations and Bibliography column width issue

Hi,

I keep having issues when updating my citation list. As you can see the Column Cells on the left tend to break. I have been manually realigning the column. This works temporarily, but once updated it goes back to the column breaks.

I have looked through all the settings, and have tried editing the table, but keep having the same problem.

Is there a way to customize the Citation Lists?

TOC using sequential numbers from heading style

Greetings,

Creating a songbook. All the songs have headings; the headings have a defined style, which includes sequential numbering. I want the TOC to show me the name of the song and its number in the sequence; the page number is irrelevant in this situation as there is more than one song on a page (and the pages really aren't numbered). Is there a way to create a TOC from this heading style that will use the heading number and ignore the page number?

Word 2013 cannot open or save a .doc file

HELP! All of a sudden, my Word 2013, running in Windows 7, is unable to open an existing document or save a new document in .doc format. If I try to open an existing .DOC document, I get the dialog box:

<filename> is locked for editing by 'another user'. Do you want to:

 open a read only copy

 create a local copy and merge your changes later

 receive notification when the original copy is available.

No matter which option I choose, I get the message "Word experienced an error trying to open the file. Try these suggestions..." Note these are not shared documents and are stored on my workstation.

If I create a new document and try to save it as a .doc file, I get the message:

The save failed due to out of memory or disk space.

I CAN open and save files as .DOCX.

I appear to be having similar problems opening or saving Excel spreadsheets in .XLS format.

Until three days ago, everything was fine. No new apps have been installed. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem (and what might have caused it)? Thanks for your suggestions.

Embedded Excel chart is skewed in Microsoft Word 10

Hi, I have inserted an Excel chart using Past Special - Microsoft Excel Binary Worksheet Object into Word10 and only part of the chart is displayed.  When I double click the chart in Word, the entire copied area is shown, however when I go back to the doc, only part of the chart is shown.  Part of the chart is cut out and not displayed at all.  

The same goes with existing document that already has an embedded Excel chart.  When the doc open for the first time, the chart would be displayed correctly.  However if I click on the chart, and then click back out, part of the chart will be cut out and not displayed.  There's no way I can get it to go back to the original state to show everything afterwards.

This is very frustrating and I am almost to the point of abandoning Excel and just type the data in a table in Word and manually do the calculations.

Word "Recovers" Files by Reverting to Older Versions - Complete Disaster - Can't save anything

Word keeps reverting back to older versions of my files, telling me that it has "recovered" them.  There have been no crashes of Windows or of MS Word.  Still it does this _EVERY_ time I re-open an existing file.  I only had one file that I wanted to work on when I started.  This developed into numerous "recovered" files presented in a list which makes no distinction between any of them.  They all had the same name.  So every time I opened Word, I was confronted with a list of papers that all had the same name.  If I click on any of them I am shown an old document to which I had subsequently made numerous changes over a period of time - changes which are not present.  It then asks me whether I want to save the changes that I made - EVEN when I have made no changes, but have simply opened the document to see which one it is.  Since it started doing this repeatedly, I copied and pasted the contents of the document into a new file so that I could at least tell the more recent "recoveries" from the older ones.  This didn't stop the "recovery" behavior, however.

Once I have a document open, I can see a list of documents with different dates/times (spread out over a couple weeks).  I have opened up every single one and they are all identical.


I just paid for this program (much to my regret) before starting to use it to work on this very document and it this is the ONLY behavior that I have witnessed it perform.
