Posted: 19 Jul 2006 11:28 AM PDT Thanks for the information. I'm guessing there's no way to find out about testing problems with Exchange 2003 as that's probably not something MS would publish externally "Scott M." wrote: |
Posted: 19 Jul 2006 08:13 AM PDT Honestly at this point, I would just bite the bullet and call Microsoft Support (PSS) and see what they can do. If the email is worth more than $250, its a solid investment. "SENAD Group" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |
Accessing two exchange accounts in Outlook Posted: 19 Jul 2006 07:40 AM PDT > Send As permission can be assigned from AD Users & Computers | user I added the Send As permission and now i get a different error when i try to send from one account to the other: The following recipient(s) could not be reached: Test User on 7/20/2006 2:45 PM The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address. <global.internal.local #5.1.1> As a side note, early this morning i deleted this user's account from the server and then recreated it to try and deal with some of the issues we have been having. His mailbox does exist and it apparently can receive email from the outside world. Not sure if any of this is a factor here. |
How do I capture inbound and outbound email statistics in Exchange Posted: 19 Jul 2006 07:17 AM PDT If you meant message journaling, I wouldn't use that if all I wanted is reports about email traffic. -- Bharat Suneja MVP - Exchange www.zenprise.com NEW blog location: www.exchangepedia.com/blog ---------------------------------------------- "Smohrman" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |
Posted: 19 Jul 2006 04:44 AM PDT Thanks Victor! That does look like what I'm after. More importantly, thanks for confirming this problem is not about gaps in my knowledge and is actually a limitation within Exchange! Seems so strange that such a feature rich server as Exchange isn't capable of this behaviour. Since posting I have been playing with public folders, and managed to get a similar effect, at least at the interface end, by adding mail enabled public folders to the "favourite mail folders" within Exchange - producing a nice list of differently named mailboxes with an unread messages count. I've not completed full tests yet though, and this still feels somewhat kludgy, so it may be that the "whichaddress" util could be a way forward. Many thanks for your help! Ben. Whats the best way to remove old Exchange 2K servers Posted: 18 Jul 2006 11:56 AM PDT Eric, This will put me to right direction of what to do next. Thanks for the KB articles that gave me clarification. SErhat, "Eric Tam [MSFT]" wrote: |
Posted: 18 Jul 2006 09:34 AM PDT You can change the reply address to be the address of your helpdesk account, so even though the e-mail is sent form their personal account the reply address would be for the helpdesk. You can change this using the option button while creating the new message. I think there is a way that you can make that permanent. Can't think of it now but if I do, I will put it here. Distribution list not sending msg(s) Posted: 18 Jul 2006 09:23 AM PDT Yes, the mailbox is stamped with an smtp address. The two mailboxes that I added are working just fine and have been working for 2 years (one of them is mine). We do have a custom GAL. The LDAP command is listed below: **************************** (& (mailnickname=*) (!(mail=*go.mycompany.com)) (| (&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user)(!(home MDB=*))(!(msExchHomeServerName=*)))(&(objectCatego ry=person)(objectClass=user)(|(homeMDB=*)(msExchHo meServerName=*)))(&(objectCategory=person)(objectC lass=contact))(objectCategory=group)(objectCategor y=publicFolder)(objectCategory=msExchDynamicDistri butionList) )) ****************************** We have two domains "mycompany.com" and "go.mycompany.com". What we were trying to do the the above LDAP command was to filter out any address from the "go.mycompany.com". In doing so, everything is working except DLs. We can see the DLs but we just can't send email to them. Clayton "Susan" <nospam.com> wrote in message news:%phx.gbl... |
