you might check into 'parted', but the first thing

Fedora Core 2 and maximum partition size

It's not supposed to, and RH9 didn't. I think the absolute max is
around 256 Terrabytes.

KDE vs gnome Fedora 2

app and it wiped out my KDE desktop configs for user. Spent an hour getting
it 're-configured'.
