There are three or four places where you have to change the measuring
system.

[discuss] Generic OO Framework?

ah, well it looks like I have been preempted, I was really just asking
about the possiblility of such extensibiltiy, and it clearly is
already very possible.

Would it then be possible to hotplug a module by a third party after
installation?

It's a shame then that we haven't seen this being used by all sorts of
projects, to extend OOo in all sorts of groovy ways, hmm, maybe
there's a bit more of a barrier then it seems, or Maybe it's just not
as "cool" to write such extensions to an office app as it is for a
Browser :\

Sorry, got a bit carried away there ;-)

I'm not a native English speaker, but that doesn't sound as a compliment :-)

You can't seriously compare MSWord 97 with OOo 2.1.
Unless you are Steve Ballmer of course ;-)

Furthermore, then you have also to start Excel, Powerpoint, Access, ...

But of course you are right, that running OOo on Win98 isn't the fastest
experience.
I just did a little test on a Win98 installation (500 mHz /124 MB or
such). OOo 2.0.3 started in 21 seconds.
But it's not a heavily used (polluted) computer, I have to admit.

Cheers,
Cor

Joachim already did that: he told you about a test component and how to
get the source code for it. Try it out. If you have questions about
accessing the source code of a Child Workspace please send them to the
